Chemical Peels in Los Angeles & Beverly Hills
The chemical peel is one of the oldest cosmetic procedures in the world. People in ancient Egypt, Greece, and Rome used chemical peels to achieve smoother, more youthful-looking skin. Our Los Angeles chemical peels effectively and gently exfoliate dead, dull skin cells to reveal fresh skin that looks smoother and renewed. These treatments can improve the tone and color in the skin, as well as diminish acne scars and smooth out the complexion.

TCA 35% Peel
Top of page
A 35% concentration of Trichloroacetic acid (TCA) is a medium depth peel. For a lighter, more gentle version, view the TCA 15% Peel. The TCA 35% Peel sloughs off the top layers of the skin and works beautifully for patients with fine lines and wrinkles, superficial blemishes, and discolorations, freckles and/or pigmentations. The 35% level TCA may be used on the face and neck, as well as other areas of the body such as the hands and chest. This Los Angeles chemical peel usually takes around 30 minutes.
With a 35% TCA, most clients experience some redness initially. Within a few days, your outer layers of skin will turn darker, and prepare to peel. The flaking is usually complete in four to seven days. Any post "flushed" appearance will fade slowly over several weeks. The skin is usually completely healed within 1-2 weeks. At that time, the improvement in the appearance of the skin becomes apparent and clients notice a healthy glow, along with a reduction in fine lines, blemishes, and pigmentation problems.
Once the skin has healed after your Los Angeles chemical peel, sunscreen use is very important, as the skin is initially much more sensitive to the ultraviolet rays from the sun.

This Los Angeles chemical peel is similar to the standard Cosmelan Degpigmentation Treatment, but takes it one extra level with hydroquinone.
Poly Acid Peel

This Poly Acid Peel utilizes proprietary Cosmetique ingredients. This Los Angeles chemical peel is one of the strongest of the chemical solutions and produces a deep peel. Typically, it is used to correct blotches caused by sun exposure, birth control pills, or aging and can also smooth out mid-level wrinkles.
The Poly Acid Peel is usually used only on the face area, and is not recommended for darker-skinned individuals. Recovery from this chemical peel may be slow and complete healing may take several months.
Protecting skin from the sun is very important following a Poly Acid Peel.
Cosmelan®
Depigmentation Treatment
Top of page
This physician-supervised, one-time Los Angeles chemical peel is the new standard in the treatment of resistant melasma. It is specially formulated to block the process that causes hyperpigmentation without the use of TCA (trichloroacetic acid) or hydroquinone (skin bleaching agent). This chemical peel treatment is rapid and easy, and can be used on all skin types. There is a very high safety margin and it can be used all year round. Skin becomes bright and rejuvenated with lightening of spots and brown areas in just 1-4 weeks. Cosmelan® is also highly effective in treating acne by reducing the amount of oil that is produced by the oil glands.
Cosmelan® Depigmentation Treatment is preformed
in two parts:
Office Chemical Peel Treatment (Cosmelan 1)
The surface of the skin is thoroughly
cleansed to remove any dead cells and oily residue.
A facial mask is then applied under the physician’s
supervision. The time required for the cream
to act completely will be determined based on
your skin type and the severity of the discoloration.
The day following your Los Angeles chemical peel treatment your skin will be slightly reddened – much
like a mild sunburn – and you will experience
some flaking and peeling. Some people experience
stinging, itching, and a tightening feeling.
This is normal, and may be alleviated by using
the Hydra Vital Factor K Cream that will be
provided.
Home Chemical Peel Treatment (Cosmelan 2)
Our Los Angeles chemical peel treatment is then followed by the Cosmelan 2 home maintenance cream. The
cream will be applied daily to keep your skin
smooth and clear, and maintain the lightening
achieved with the Cosmelan 1. You should not
use other lightening cream while on the Cosmelan
system.

The evaluation studied the safety and effectiveness of KMP’s Vi Peel chemical peel on participants with a variety of skin types and various levels of wrinkles and fine lines. International Research Services, Inc. concluded the following:
After close examination, Vi Peel was determined to be completely safe within intended use.
Crow’s Feet line improvements were “statistically significant for the spacing parameter, and trendwise (directionally) significant for five additional parameters.”
Fine Lines & Wrinkle improvements were “statistically significant. Overall, the changes were in the direction of smoother fine line texture, i.e., decreases from baseline for Rz, Shadows and NumWr.”
Up to 71% of participants reported a significant improvement in “improved fine lines” and “skin suppleness.”
Signs of minor irritation decreased quickly after participants used the Vi Peel.
Participants rapidly showed a reduction in melanin content and increase in collagen content.
Just two weeks after Vi Peel use, participants showed a hemoglobin increase, suggesting increased blood flow to the treated areas.
The VI Peel was also featured in In Style Magazine's August 2007 Makeover issue. Click to see a PDF of the article.
