Thermage heats the deep layers of the skin by using radiofrequency (RF) technology. The procedure is safe, and cools the surface of the skin to keep it safe during the process. This deep heating jump starts the body’s natural collagen renewal process. New collagen is formed, which both tightens skin and improves its texture.

Collagen is a protein in the skin's tissues that keeps the skin tight and youthful in appearance. Over time, and through exposure to the elements, collagen breaks down more quickly that the body can replace it. This can cause negative effects such as sagging or wrinkled skin. What should I expect when getting a Thermage treatment?

Thermage treatments average about 45 minutes for the face and up to one and a half hours for other parts of the body. A small handheld device is pressed against the target area to heat the deep tissue layers while cooling the visible skin areas. The coolingis felt immediately when the device is pressed against the skin, followed by a subtle deep heat, and then another cooling sensation. Each energy pulse takes 2 to 7 seconds and one can expect to have anywhere from 200 to 800 pulses depending on the size of the area. We work with each client's personal comfort level to achieve optimum results. The skin may appear slightly red after treatment, but most are able to resume their daily activities with no downtime after the procedure.
